Half-Day Guided Tour of Doha City

iconic landmarks and cultural gems.
Your journey begins at the Old Port of Doha (Mina District) – a charming area with cobbled streets, pastel
toned buildings, and lively surroundings where cruise ships dock and a bustling fish market showcases the
city’s maritime heritage. From there, continue to Box Park, a trendy hotspot built from repurposed shipping
containers. Bursting with colours, boutique shops, and casual eateries, it’s one of Doha’s most photogenic and
Instagram-worthy destinations.
Driving along the scenic Doha Corniche, you’ll pass the glittering skyline of the West Bay district, home to
the city’s most recognizable skyscrapers. Your next stop is the Katara Cultural Village, a hub of art, heritage,
and architecture. Highlights include the beautifully decorated Katara Blue Mosque, known for its intricate
Persian and Turkish tiles in blue and gold, and the traditional Pigeon Towers, designed as resting places for
hundreds of birds. You’ll also visit the impressive Amphitheatre, a grand blend of classical Greek design with
Islamic artistry, accommodating up to 5,000 spectators. Before leaving Katara, stroll through 21 High Street,
Doha’s luxurious shopping avenue featuring Galleries Lafayette, chic designer stores, outdoor cooling systems,
and striking Murano glass installations.
The final stop of the tour is Souq Waqif, Doha’s historic marketplace and cultural heart. Wander through its
narrow alleys filled with spice stalls offering saffron, zaatar, sumac, dried flowers, black lemons, dates, honey,
and aromatic teas. Step into the Falcon Souq to admire Qatar’s treasured birds of prey and even take a photo
with one perched on your arm. Nearby, you’ll see the Camel Pen and the Emiri Stables, home to elegant
Arabian horses that still accompany the heritage police on their rounds.
